TEETH WHITENING

The colour of our teeth is influenced by a number of factors: tea, coffee, smoking and red wine, as well as the ageing process, can all contribute to discolouration. Enamel found on the outer surface of the tooth can never be replaced. Dentine, which is beneath, is repaired and becomes darker and more yellow with age, hence, darkening the teeth. To resolve this, tooth whitening is often the perfect solution.

Nowadays, there are teeth whitening solutions for most budgets and lifestyles. There are two main forms of bleaching, but it is recommended that you visit your dentist for a consultation before undergoing either treatment for advice and reassurance. Some teeth may have micro-cracks, which may result in a stripped appearance or, in other instances, teeth with crowns or veneers should also be examined as they may not respond to bleaching in the same way a natural tooth would.
